Is Positive thinking possible?

Everything takes longer than you think. If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
– Murphy’s Law

Have you ever heard the sentence “it could be worse?”
When this happens, the listener’s first thought is definitely not positive or peaceful.
When this sentence is said by someone in movies it also starts to rain by the way.

Life is not a film, there ain’t magic wands to solve the negative situation we’re facing and let us live our happily ever after.

What does this mean anyway? Do you think that Cinderella spends every single day of her life smiling like a crazy person for 24 hours a day? I don’t think so.

Being happy doesn’t mean being enthusiastic 24/7, laughing all the time or having a paresis, it’s a journey made of hard work on ourselves and how to deal with our daily situations.

So how can we avoid to feel overwhelmed when something bad comes up? Here’s a easy exercise to train our positive thinking and defeat negativity!

The solution is easier than you may think: what balances negativity? Positivity!

Did you prepare a presentation that you have to show to your colleagues and 30minutes before that your computer dies? Well, you wrote that so everything is in your mind, and even if you forget one or two sentences your audience doesn’t know that so just focus on the message.

There’s always a plan B and if that doesn’t work, the alfabeth has 25 more letters right?
Focusing on negativity blocks us and also makes us lose our self-confidence. Do we really want to allow a little bump in the road to take our minds off the finish line?

Something that really helped me to stay positive are the post-it. Yes, coloured sticky notes to put everywhere.

In my closet, behind the door, in my bathroom mirror.
In every single one I wrote something I’m good at or a problem that I solved.

Every time I had to pick an outfit or I brushed my teeth I could see that and remember the good things I had in my life (that so often I forgot or took for granted), my results and my strenghts.

Seing that made me think “Come on, problems, I’m not afraid of you. I faced so many difficult situations that I’m going to eat you for breakfast.”

To defeat negativity, try to use this easy method: write one post-it per day for a month about one of your qualities or a little victory.

Thinking about 30 things right now may seem difficult, but you’ll see that after a while you’ll be able to find one positive thing each day.

Put this sentences in strategic places of your house: near your nightstand, even in the fridge! At the end of the first month you’ll have many little positive thoughts that will help you to be more aware of your potential, your strenghts and your inner power. This way you’ll learn to be self-confident, one post-it at the time.

In a few months you’ll really see what you’re capable of and everything that will happen in the future won’t let you down.

Positive thinking is possible. We don’t need to believe in farytales and happily ever afters.
We just need to believe in ourselves.

Which are your qualities, your talents? Have you ever faced a situation so difficult that made you almost think “I can’t make it” and then you did?
Write it below and share it with the Comunity will bless you to receive and offer support at the same time!
